Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has announced a couple of camera-centric handsets - HTC One (M8 Eye) and HTC Desire Eye - in India.

The new HTC One (M8 Eye) boasts similar hardware seen inside the flagship HTC One M8 smartphone, sans the camera specifications. Instead of the ultra-pixel technology, the former features a 13.0-megapixel main camera, with a secondary camera to capture in-depth information of the scene, and a 5.0-megapixel camera on the front with full HD video recording ability.

Under the hood, it features 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 series CPU, Adreno 330 graphics engine, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 128GB) and a 2600 mAh battery.

HTC Desire Eye, on the other hand, sports a 5.2-inch full HD (19020x1080p) display, and inside it is packed with Snapdragon 801 series quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 2400 mAh battery, which can run the phone for 20 hours of talk time and close to 538 hours under standby mode.

As the name suggests, the new Desire Eye's main USP is its feature-rich front camera. It boasts a wide-angle 13.0-megapixel camera with 22mm lens, dual-LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, HDR mode options and many more features. It's main camera also houses similar specifications, sans a couple of features like 28mm lens and f/2.0 aperture. Other mentionable feature include IPX7 water-resistant certification to increase its durability.

The company has reportedly confirmed that the new HTC One (M8 Eye) will have a price tag of ₹38,990, while the Desire Eye's price details will be revealed next month, ahead of its release via online store Amazon India.
