HTC One (E8)
HTC One E8, Desire 616 Officially launched in IndiaHTC Blog

The long-rumored HTC One (M8) plastic variant has been officially unveiled as HTC One (E8) in Beijing.

The new variant comes with the sleek (9.45 mm thickness) ergonomic unibody design language seen on the high-end HTC One models, sans the usage of metal; instead it flaunts a synthetic polycarbonate body.

"The HTC One (M8) sets a new smartphone standard and now we're taking it in another exciting direction," said HTC's CEO Peter Chou.

"Combining style and substance, the HTC One (E8) represents the incredible experience people expect from an HTC One device with a look and feel that's unlike anything else out there today. If you're looking for the best flagship smartphone experience, but want to stand out from the crowd, this is the phone for you," he added.

As reported before, HTC One (E8) houses pretty much the same internal hardware, except the ultra-pixel dual-camera, seen in the recently unveiled HTC One (M8). It sports a 5.0-inch full HD display and runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS, powered by Snapdragon 801 series CPU, Adreno 330 graphics engine, 2GB, 16GB internal storage (expandable) and a 2600 mAh battery. It also boasts HTC's extreme power saving mode feature, to keep the phone running for a long time.

The phone houses a 13.0-megapixel primary camera on the rear side and a 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front. Both cameras have the ability to take full HD videos.

The company says that the new HTC One (E8) will be made available to select markets in early June but price details and the specific release date of the device is still under wraps.
