HTC is one of the first companies to release Android Marshmallow update to its devices. Having seeded the firmware to several handsets over the last few months, it has now started rolling out the update to the HTC Desire 820.

The HTC Desire 820 has received Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update via OTA (over-the-air) along with 7.0 version of the company's Sense UI, according to GSM Arena. Leakster LlabTooFeR had earlier retweeted a post by Twitter user Syed Salman who said the firmware has been rolled out to the Desire 820. The post comes with a screenshot of the update with the file weighing 75.61MB.

The Taiwanese technology giant has already released the firmware to devices like the One M8 Dual SIM, One A9, One M9, One (E8), One (M8 Eye), Desire Eye and the Desire 816. Other devices like the HTC M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC One E9, HTC ME and HTC Desire 826 are also eligible for the firmware, but it is not known when they will receive it.

The HTC Desire 820 was released in 2014 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It has a 5.5-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB), a 2GB RAM, a 13MP main camera, an 8MP front-snapper, and a non-removable Li-Po 2,600mAh battery.
