Sanjay Leela Bhansali has reportedly signed Deepika Padukone for his ambitious project "Bajirao Mastani" and is considering Hrithik Roshan for the role of Bajirao.

We reported earlier that Bhansali was finally in talks of helming his ambitious project "Bajirao Mastani" and had Deepika in mind after her stellar performance in "Ram-leela."

And now a report by Zoom TV hints that the gorgeous actress has already been signed for the period drama film and the filmmaker wishes to sign Hrithik as the male lead.

While Hrirthik has already starred in the period drama "Jodha Akbar" earning rave reviews, it remains to be seen whether the star gives his nod to the magnum opus film, which is Bhansali's dream project. The "Krrish" star recently turned down Karan Johar's ambitious project "Shuddhi" creating quite a situation.

Meanwhile, the "Chennai Express" actress had recently expressed her desire to work with Hrithik when he was associated with "Shuddhi." And now if Hrithik agrees to be a part of Bhansali's next, Deepika's wishes will comes true and this will be the first time pairing of the duo.

Bhansali had initially wanted the hit Salman and Aishwarya pair for "Bajirao Mastani" but after the actors fell out bitterly, the filmmaker shelved the project indefinitely. Despite this, rumours of Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgn being approached for the project have surfaced time and again.

"Bajirao Mastani" is based on the love story of the Maratha general Peshwa Bajirao and his Muslim-origin wife Mastani, who faced the wrath of the society on their inter-religion marriage, which is said to have led to a crisis within the royal family.

Meanwhile, rumour has it that the filmmaker is already busy scouting for locations for the film's shooting.
