America's top PC maker HP has released its new Google OS-powered notebook, Chromebook 11.
The device comes with a magnesium frame, aptly supported by tough plastic cover, giving enough body strength to survive daily bumps and bruises.
The Chromebook sports an 11.6-inch IPS HD (1366x768p) display, with 176-degree viewing angle, enabling users to view contents on the screen from almost completely sideways.
It also packs Samsung's Exynos 5250 processor, 2GB DDR3L RAM but only a paltry 16GB eMMC SSD memory. However, Google compensates this issue by providing 100 GB storage space in Google Drive (free for two years) and a 60-day free trial of Google Play Music All Access.
Another mentionable feature of the new Chromebook is that it comes with a micro-USB port, wherein users can power their device using any Android smartphone's or tablet's charging cable.
The only major drawback is that the device needs internet connectivity most of the time, making it less feasible for developing countries like India, where broadband connections are much less compared to the developed markets of North America and Europe.
Google Chromebook 11 is already on sale at Best Buy, Amazon, Google Play and HP Shopping in the U.S. for $279.99 (around ₹17,306), as well as at Currys, PC World and many other retailers in the U.K. The device is also expected to reach other select markets in time for holiday season, revealed Google.
