Pankaj Kapoor is Shahid Kapoor's father in real life, but on the sets of "Shaandaar" he used to get jealous of his son because of Alia Bhatt.

Alia plays Pankaj Kapoor's daughter in the film "Shaandaar", while Shahid plays the role of a wedding planner. So when Shahid used to talk to Alia on the sets of "Shaandaar", her on-screen father used to get jealous.

"Alia and my father had some connection. They used to have long conversation and they bonded over food. My father was jealous when I was talking to Alia...he was in relationship with the format of the film. As in the film he plays Alia's father and thinks no one is good for his daughter," Press Trust of India quoted Shahid as saying.

During the trailer launch of Vikas Bahl's directorial film, Alia talked about her on-screen and real-life father.

"One aspect is that the father-daughter angle is there in everybody's life. Even my father would be jealous of anybody in my life. Let's not talk about who, let's just say anybody," Alia said during the trailer launch.

"So that's something we've caught on to and I feel hopefully will connect to the audiences really well because obviously a mother-son or mother-daughter relationship is something but a father-daughter relationship can get really cute. And that's what we're trying to achieve with this film."
