Honor is on a smartphone launch spree, offering a phone for every budget. But if buyers' requirement is extensive gaming then the Honor Play serves an apt purpose. Launched in August, Honor Play has since remained a popular smartphone in the sub-Rs 20,000 price range. In fact, the handset was "instantly sold out" during its first sale.
Now to all those who bought the Honor Play, the company has some great news. In addition to the dedicated GPU Turbo technology that delivers "crazy fast, crazy smart" gaming experience, Honor Play has received yet another gaming feature to enhance PUBG and Asphalt 9 gameplay.
Honor has rolled out a new software update to Honor Play smartphones that includes a new feature called 4D Smart Shock. With this feature, users will have denser vibrations that are fine-tuned for work with PUBG and Asphalt 9. But the company is likely to add more titles to the list soon.
In addition to the new gaming feature, the latest software update, which comes in two parts, fixes several bugs. The call recording issue is now fixed along with other security patches in 184.108.40.206 update and the 220.127.116.11 update is mainly a security patch. Both updates weigh 0.93GB in size, which is why it is important for users to connect to Wi-Fi before downloading the new software.
In order to update your Honor Play with the latest software, users must follow the traditional OTA methods. The update will be rolled out over-the-air to all users in batches, so if you haven't received a notification then go to Settings > System updates to manually check for updates.
After initiating the installation process, everything is pretty much automated and the Honor Play will be restart at the end of the update. Depending on the Wi-Fi speeds, this upgrade could take a few minutes.
Honor Play users will also be glad to know that Huawei has confirmed the device to get Android Pie. The Android 9 beta program for Honor Play devices is already live, but users can wait for the stable build to arrive sometime towards the end of the year.
