Huawei's sub-brand Honor has officially launched the Honor 9N in India on Tuesday, bringing stiff competition to the mid-range smartphone market. The all-new Honor phone brings series of impressive features that should appeal to the youth.

Honor launched the Honor 9N smartphone in India starting at Rs 11,999, and the smartphone is going to be available exclusively on Flipkart July 31 onwards. Given the feature-rich nature of the phone at an affordable price point, Honor 9N could well be sold in a flash sale model.

Honor 9N comes in three configurations, 3GB+32GB for Rs 11,999, 4GB+64GB for Rs 13,999 and 4GB+128GB for Rs 17,999.

Now for the device itself, Honor 9N is strongly placed as one of the camera smartphones in India. Complete with dual cameras and AI integration, trending design with full-screen display and more such features, Honor 9N makes a compelling statement in the mid-range smartphone category. Here are the top 5 reasons why it makes sense to buy Honor 9N:

Cameras

Honor 9N is positioned as a camera-centric smartphone. The dual rear cameras with 13MP and 2MP sensors are aimed to bring detailed photographs and the AI assistance will just add new flavour to the mix. There are interesting features such as an option to change backgrounds, adjust bokeh, and more. Selfie lovers will find comfort in the 16MP front-facing shooter. We'll soon be sharing out hands-on experience with the phone, so stay tuned.

Design

Honor phones are known for their exquisite design. The Honor 9N is no different and it makes budget phones look lavish. There's a glass back with 12 layers of nano-coating to create a mirror reflection. But our favourite is the new range of colours besides the traditional Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue, namely the Robin Egg Blue and Lavender Purple.

Display

A complete immersive experience with the 19:9 aspect ratio display for a 5.84-inch Full HD+ screen makes Honor 10 compete fairly in the budget segment. Honor offers an option for users who hate to notch to hide it by filling the ears with black, but places the notifications there to make it look more distinctive. That's smart utilisation of the feature to fill spaces around the notch.

Security

Honor 9N comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, but it also has a face unlocking feature that won't unlock the device when your eyes are closed. So you do not have to worry about someone snooping into your device when you are asleep.

Now the fingerprint scanner has many uses besides unlocking the phone. It can be used to take photos, answer calls, show notifications, browse photos, silent alarm and authenticate payments via Paytm.

Performance and gaming

Honor really focused on the performance aspect for the Honor 9N. There are several new features expected to arrive in future OTA, such as Party Mode where users can connect multiple devices to play songs in sync.

Honor 9N is powered by Kirin 659 chipset, EMUI 8.0, 3,000mAh battery, 3GB/4GB RAM options and 32GB/64GB/128GB storage variants. There's a special Game Suite in the phone that helps mobile gamers play games without any interruptions.
