It looks like after launching the BR-V SUV in India, Japanese auto-maker Honda is now rolling up its sleeves to launch the new avatar Mobilio MPV in India. A report of Oncars.in claims that Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice president of marketing & sales ta Honda Car India (HCIL), has hinted at the launch of the new Mobilio facelift in India.

Although the report did not specify the launch details of the Mobilio facelift, it adds that the model is in the horizon. It was also reported that Honda has aggressive plans for the commercial segment with the Mobilio MPV. Honda Mobilio, the MPV, which made its market debut in 2014, has been making meagre sales in the country.

The Mobilio facelift is expected to come with interior and exterior makeover. While the exterior of the Mobilio is likely to get minor visual modifications, the cabin of the facelifted avatar of the Mobilio MPV is expected to get a new dashboard inspired from the BR-V SUV.

Under the hood, Honda Mobilio facelift is likely to get the same powertrain of the current model. The Mobilio packs a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine or a 1.5 L i-VTEC petrol engine. While the diesel engine of the Mobilio delivers 99bhp at 3,600rpm and maximum torque of 200Nm at 1,750rpm, the petrol model churns out maximum power of 118bhp at 6,600rpm and maximum torque of 145Nm at 4,600rpm. Both engines come mated to five-speed manual transmission.

The features expected in the Mobilio facelift include rectangular air con vent, a touchscreen entertainment system with integrated reverse-camera display, automatic climate control and new storage spaces and cup holders. Other features expected include newly-designed alloy wheels and chrome touches in front and rear bumpers.
