If emerging reports on web are to be believed, Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India  (HMIL) is planning to expand scooter range in the country with the launch of Lead 125cc scooter.

Lead 12cc scooter, a model that is already being sold in a few international markets like Vietnam and Japan, is reportedly in its preparation to make its India debut this year, according to NDTV Auto report. If this rings true, the Lead 125 will join the league of Activa in India. Going by the report, the Lead 125 that has now been imported to India for testing purpose is likely to be official here during the festive season this year.

Speaking of the features, Lead 125cc gets power from 125cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which can generate a power of 11.33bhp and comes equipped with Honda's 'Smart Power' technology.

As for styling, Honda Lead flaunts premium look with its V-shaped chrome line with integrated indicators and there is also large under-seat storage.

Honda is also expected to launch PCX 150 scooter in India this year. Powered by 153cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC (single overhead camshaft), liquid-cooled engine that can churn out a maximum power output of 13.4bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm at 5,000rpm, Honda PCX 150 is likely to get a price tag around ₹70,000.

The features expected in PCX 150 include alloy wheels, analogue instrument cluster and pillion grab rail.
