After the success of Honda's first MPV offering Mobilio in India, the Japanese auto-maker has intensified the competition in the multi-purpose segment with the launch of two new Mobilio variants - V (O) and RS (O).

Both the new variants feature Audio Video Navigation (AVN) and Rear View Parking Camera. The Mobilio V (O), which is positioned above the existing E, S and V Grade comes in both petrol and diesel engine options, while the exclusive sporty RS diesel variant of the Mobilio will now have an additional RS (O) grade. Mobilio RS (O) is available only with diesel engine.

Honda Mobilio's AVN system features a 15.7 cm Touch Screen loaded with maps, satellite-based voice-guided navigation, and complete in-car entertainment and connectivity features DVD/CD, Bluetooth, USB, AUX, i-POD, MP3, FM/AM). The car's synchronised Bluetooth system lets the user to sync the phone and implement functions on screen, including dialling, answering, history, address book and Bluetooth music play.

In addition to the AVN packages, the new Mobilio variants also get woody interior panel on the dashboard and door armrests, which make it distinctive from other variants.

Talking of the prices, the newly launched Honda Mobilio MPV1.5L V (O) MT petrol is priced at – ₹9.46 lakh, 1.5L V(O) MT diesel get a price tag of ₹10.45 lakh, and Mobilio RS(O) diesel –₹11.55 lakh ((ex showroom New Delhi).

The Mobilio V (O) is available in the country now, where as the RS and RS (O) will be available from mid-September 2014.

Honda Mobilio at a Glance

Launched on 23 July in India, the new Honda MPV is offered now being offered in a total of 10 variants. Under the hood, Honda Mobilio packs 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine and 1.5 L i-VTEC petrol engine. The diesel engine of the Mobilio delivers 100 ps @ 3,600 rpm, maximum torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm and the petrol model promises to churn out a maximum power of 119 ps @ 6,600 rpm, maximum torque of 145 Nm @ 4,600 rpm. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

Mobilio, a killer of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia measures 4,386 mm in length, 1,683 mm in width and 1,603 mm in height and comes in seven paint jobs - Brilliant Gold Metallic (New and exclusive), Carnelian Red Pearl, Majestic Blue Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic and Taffeta White.

The RS variant of Mobilio packs 1.5l iDTEC diesel Earth Dreams engine, which is tuned to churn out a power of 100 ps @ 3,600 rpm, maximum torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm, promising to offer a fuel efficiency of 24.2 kmpl.

It comes with exclusive features like Sporty Chrome Grille, Chrome Door Handle and Sporty Alloy Wheels. It also has Chrome Garnish fog lamp, Projector Head Lamps, with LED Position Lamps and Power Retractable ORVM with Turn Indicator.
