It's a brand new year that is expected to treat us to some of the most anticipated movies. From sequels to superhero flicks, 2016 looks pretty promising for Hollywood.

Here, we bring you a list of some of the major releases, including "Batman V Superman", "Zoolander 2", "The Forest", "Kung Fu Panda 3" and others that will hit the screen between the first quarter of the year, January and March.

Kung Fu Panda 3: And Po is back. Continuing his "legendary adventures of awesomeness", Po will face two hugely epic, but different, threats -- one supernatural and the other a little closer to his home. After reuniting with his long-lost father, Po must train a village of clumsy pandas to help him defeat the villainous Kai.

Zoolander 2: Derek and Hansel are back and are modelling again when an opposing company attempts to take them out from the business. Now, Derek Zoolander and his partner must stop a conspiracy to kill the world's most beautiful people.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice: What can we say about this Zack Snyder film that has got movie buffs really excited. Two of the major and most popular superheros Batman and Superman have a face-off. Fearing the actions of Superman left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante Batman takes on Metropolis' most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat Doomsday quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
