Holi, the festival of colours, will be celebrated on 6 March across the country.

From "Mother India" to "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", several films have featured special songs themed on the colourful festival. Some songs like "Rang Barse" from 1981 hit film "Silsila" and "Aaj na Chodenge" from 1970 release "Kati Patang" are among the few tracks that often come to mind during the festive occasion.

And this time it will be Ranbir Kapoor's "Balam Pichkari."

'Balam Pichkari' is sung by Vishal Dadlani, Shalmali Kholgade from bolckbuster movie "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", which is directed by Ayan Mukerji starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin.

'Holi Khele Raghuveera' from 2003 drama film "Baghban", which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Salman Khan.

'Rang Barse' sung by Amitabh Bachchan from 1981 hit film "Silsila" is one of the most remembered songs during Holi.

'Aaj Na Chodenge' sung by Kishore Kumar from 1970 film "Kati Patang".

'Do Me A Favour Lets Play Holi' is another famous Holi song from2005 film "Waqt - The Race Against Time".

'Dekho Aayi Holi Re' is from the 2005 film "Mangal Pandey". It is sung by Aamir Khan, Udit Narayan, Madhushree, Srinivas and Chinmayee.

'Soni Soni' is a Holi song from 2000 film "Mohabbatein", which starred many fresh faces. It is sung by several singers including Udit Narayan.

'Ang Se Ang Lagana' is from blockbuster film "Darr" and it is sung by Alka Yagnik, Vinod Rathod and Sudesh Bhosle.

'Holi ke Din Dil Khil Jate He' sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar from 1975 hit film "Sholay" is also one of the popular Holi songs.

'Holi Aayi Re Kanhai' sung by Shamshad Begum in the 1957 epic melodrama film "Mother India" is one of the popular Holi songs.

'Are Ja Re Hat Natkhat' sung by Asha Bhosle and Mahendra Kapoor is one of the epic songs from the Bollywood's first colour movie "Navrang" released in 1959.

'Holi Aayi Re' is yet another popular festival song from "Mashaal" (1994), which starred Anil Kapoor.
