A report claiming former lead singer of Led Zepplin, Robert Plant, is dead should not be taken seriously as it is just another celebrity death hoax.

Last week, a fake report caused much concern among the "Tall Cool One" singer's loyal fans after it claimed that he has passed away. The September 2015 report shocked the fans as it cited a RIP Robert Plant Facebook page with over a million likes as its chief source.

The fake RIP Facebook fooled many as it even included a detailed About section, which said:

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Friday (September 25, 2015), our beloved singer Robert Plant passed away. Robert Plant was born on August 20, 1948 in West Bromwich. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

The death hoax has the fans in frenzy, however, according to Mediamass, many realised that they were being fooled as the report of Robert Plant's death was neither carried in any of the leading British newspapers, nor was there any information on the group's official website.

Following the fake reports, even the Robert Plant media representatives later came out and officially confirmed that the singer was still alive. "He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimised by the hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet," they said.

While many of his fans were angered by the fake report, others were just thankful that the legendary singer was "alive and well."

In fact, Robert Plant recently completed a North American tour with his The Sensational Space Shifters ensemble, according to Jambase.
