The TV industry has lately made headlines for all things controversial. From "Diya Aur Baati Hum" slapgate to shocking breakups, it has indeed been a testing time for small screen actors.
Rajeev Khandelwal would have added to the list, had the viral video of him getting smacked in the face by Kritika Kamra not been a staged one. According to a Bollywood Life report, the sequence was for a promo for "Reporters", a finite TV series featuring the accomplished actor and Kritika.
The minute-long recording shows the actor forcefully kissing his co-actress, after which he gets slapped hard.
According to reports, the new show has been in the pipeline for long and will reportedly see Rajeev as an opinionated person who goes to extreme lengths to achieve what he desires. Kritika plays his love interest and one of the journalists working for his team.
The suave actor is a seasoned artiste and had become a household name with his stint as Sujal Garewal in Balaji Telefilms' "Kahiin Toh Hoga". After he shot to fame with his daily soaps, Rajeev went on to work in films for a little while.
His debut as Dr. Aamir Ali in "Aamir" was applauded by both critics and audience. However, he has done a bunch of other films which weren't quite the money-churner at the box office.
Kritika, on the other hand, got her ticket to fame with "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge" which ended its run two years ago. The actress has appeared on "MTV Webbed" and "Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 7" since.
