Alphonse Puthren's film "Premam", starring Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian and Anupama Parameshwaran has become a blockbuster in Malayalam, breaking many box office records. Despite hitting some controversies, the family romantic entertainer has been receiving positive responses from all quarters.

Now, through the micro-blogging site Twitter, Tamil filmmaker Selvaraghavan has lauded Alphonse, Nivin and other members of the cast and crew for coming up with such a beautifully crafted film.

The "Yaaradi Nee Mohini" director has thanked Alphonse for making viewers fall in love again through the film. He has also lauded Nivin's performance, saying he cannot imagine anyone else portraying the role of George in the film.

The "Mayakkam Enna" director has also requested other filmmakers to not try to remake the project in any other languages, as he feels it can only be done well by Alphonse.

Saw Premam the other day, didn't say anything because it was too late. I felt so bad about not watching it earlier. Premam is a beautifully crafted film by Alphonse Puthren, with wonderful performances and superb music. I was particularly blown over by Nivin Pauly..wow..what a performance! Superb. Thanks Alphonse for making us fall in love again. As for remaking Premam, only one person can do it justice. That's is the one and only Alphonse, others shouldn't even try. Also other than Nivin, I can not imagine any one else as George. Kudos to the entire team.

Meanwhile, "Premam" will be remade in Telugu as "Majnu" by Chandoo Mondeti, and produced by S Radha Krishna with Naga Chaitanya, Shruti Haasan, Amyra Dastur and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles.

Venkatesh and Nagarjuna are expected to make special appearances in the film, and the makers are reportedly in talks with actors Nithin and Sai Dharam Tej to do cameos as well! Just like the original, the Telugu version is also expected to do roaring business at the box office.
