"Diya Aur Baati Hum" lead pair Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid haven't been the best of friends, and now there are reports that their bitter equation has been furthered by a slap.
According to a Times of India source, the two got engaged in a heated tiff, after which Deepika (aka Sandhya) smacked the popular TV actor.
"The two got into a heated argument and started abusing each other after which Deepika slapped Anas. What exactly went wrong is not clear. On screen, both play a loving married couple, but in reality they have not been on cordial terms for almost a year now," revealed the insider.
However, Bollywood Life's sources suggest that the incident was a result of Anas inappropriately touching Deepika. Apparently, a scene required the actor to hold her from behind. Mistakenly, Anas touched her from the front, which then led to an awkward moment between them.
The situation went out of hand when he interjected a conversation the actress was trying to have with the director. Hurling abuses, Anas used uncomfortable words that made her slap him. Interestingly, he wasn't the only person who faced her wrath. According to the buzz, Deepika also hit a unit member in a fit of rage.
"She was furious with the way he misbehaved with her and slapped him. The director tried to intervene and got hurt. Anas was unapologetic about his behaviour, which irritated the actress. She does not tolerate any kind of misbehaviour from any man," Mid Day quoted an insider as saying.
While Kanika Maheshwari (Meenakshi) and Neelu Vaghela (Bhabo) both dodged it by saying they were busy with their own set of work, Deepika messaged Mid Day saying, "I am very upset and would not like to comment on it."
Since, the concerned parties didn't go on the record about the incident, it can, at best, be counted as mere speculations.
Anas has reportedly sent a letter to the Cine And TV Artistes' Association as he suspects she might bombard her with more accusations.
