"Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actress Divyanka Tripathi may be busy celebrating stardom today, but there was a time she wasn't as famous and was being paid peanuts. Yet, she cherishes her first job.

Many moons ago, Divyanka anchored her first show for which she was paid Rs 250.

"I used to anchor functions earlier and I remember that I got Rs 250 as my first salary. I was so thrilled that I decided not to cash the cheque at that time. In fact, I still have that cheque with me and I cherish it (sic)," she told HT City, Kolkata.

Not just her, several other celebs have struggled their way to the top.

"Nach Baliye 7" contestant Rashami Desai was paid Rs 1,000 for her first modelling assignment with which she bought a saree for her mother.

Rithvik Dhanjani, who worked at an electronics store, too did something special for his mother."My first job was with an electronics store, where I had to distribute pamphlets all around the city. I gave my first salary to my mother. Just a year or two back, she gave me a FD (fixed deposit) amount, saying, 'This is what you have saved'," he said.

"Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" participant Kavita Kaushik too had an interesting story to share. She was paid Rs 1,500 for anchoring a show for Delhi Doordarshan, which she handed over to her mother.

While Gautam Rode and Raviu Dubey splurged their first ever pay cheques on buying gifts for family members, Shashank Vyas, Roop Durgapal, Mrunal Jain, and Aashka Goradia spent it on themselves.
