Like the Ghanta Awards and Golden Kela Awards in Bollywood, Malayalam vlogger Lakshmi Menon has come up with the third edition of the "Rotten Coconut Awards" for the worst Mollywood films and actors of 2015.
The popular vlogger, who is being followed by more than 16,000 users on YouTube and 1.24 lakh social media users on Facebook, has listed six Malayalam movies among the worst films of the year. It includes films "Ellam Chettante Ishtam Pole," "Mithram," "Raag Rangeela," "Monsoon," "8th March" and "Uthara Chemmeen." She has also listed Mammootty-starrer "Acha Dhin" and Mohanlal's "Laila O Laila," which dealt with the topic terrorism, as the pointless movies of 2015.
Lakshmi, wife of actor Mithun Ramesh, has also given the worst debut actress award to Deepti Sati for her performance in Lal Jose's "Nee-Na" and worst actor award to Ashkar Saudan for his horror movie "Mithram." The other movies that found a spot in the award list include multi-starrer "Double Barrel" (Most Simple Script - read most complicated script), Suresh Gopi's "Rudrasimhasanam" (Comedy Movie), Unni Mukundan's "Samrajyam II: Son of Alexander" (Worst Sequel), Jayaram's "Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare" (Best TV serial) among others. "Thaikkudam Bridge"-fame Siddharth Menon and actress Eva Pavithran have been selected as the worst couple for not having any on-screen chemistry in VK Prakash's "Rockstar."
The video of "Rotten Coconut Awards 2015," uploaded on the YouTube channel of Lakshmi, has been viewed more than 38,000 times at the time of reporting.
