Sussanne Khan finally broke her silence and talked about the real reason why she parted ways with Hrithik Roshan after so many years of marriage. The duo tied the knot in 2000 and ended their marriage in 2014.
In a recent interview with Femina, Sussanne said that she and Hrithik didn't want to maintain a false relationship, and thus ended the marriage. "We had reached a stage in our lives where I decided that it's better we weren't together. It was important to be aware and not be in a false relationship," she told the magazine.
"We are close (friends). We do chat a lot even though we don't hangout together anymore. But above all, we are very committed to our children. We are respectful towards each other. When children are involved, it's important to put our differences aside and protect them," Sussanne added.
It is true that the ex-couple didn't make any public appearance together, but has been dotting parents to their two sons – Hrehaan and Hridhaan. However, their custody went to Sussanne, but Hrithik has been spotted with his sons at several events and vacations. Hrithik and his two boys have been to many adventurous trips.
Earlier, there were speculations of Sussanne and the actor getting back together. It had started doing the rounds when Sussanne said that she supported Hrithik in the legal battle between him and Kangana Ranaut, and also tweeted about the Photoshopped pictures that had added fuel to the scandal.
The ex-married couple was also spotted on a lunch date with their kids after that incident. Sussanne's support for Hrithik came as a ray of hope for the fans, but the former rubbished all the rumours later. "I request people to stop speculating. There will never be a reconciliation with @iHrithik. But we will always be good parents. #no1priority," Sussanne had tweeted.
