After Priyanka Chopra starrer "Mary Kom," filmmaker Omung Kumar is helming another biopic on the life of the Indian prisoner, Sarabjit Singh. While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan impressed viewers in her de-glam avatar in the film's poster, Randeep Hooda shocked fans with his first look in "Sarbjit."

The movie features Randeep as Sarabjit, an Indian national convicted by a Pakistani court on the charges of terrorism and spying. Aishwarya plays his sister Dalbir Kaur and Richa Chadha essays the character of Sarabjit's wife.

The first look of Randeep went viral, in which he looked so weak that his bones could be seen. It was from the scene when Sarabjit Singh was in jail. Later, a few pictures of the actor were doing the rounds in which Randeep was all pumped up.

Randeep had reportedly lost 18 kgs within 28 days to get into the character and then gained weight within 20 days as the director wanted to shoot a few flashback scenes.

He recently shared a video on Twitter, where he removed his moustache that he kept for the film. He captioned the photo: "Goodbye #Sarbjit.Gratitude to @OmungKumar @Vanita_ok @SandeepSinghOne @RichaChadda_ @kirandeohans #AishwaryaRai CREW."

There were reports that the actor is currently prepping on his wrestling skills in Punjab as he has a fight sequence in the film, according to the Hindustan Times. Interestingly, Randeep is also playing a wrestling coach in Salman Khan's "Sultan." The actor seems to be preparing for both the roles in one go.

In the film "Sarbjit," Darshan Kumaar also plays an important part. He has been roped in for the character of Khalid Pervaiz, a Pakistani lawyer who fights Sarabjit's case.

The biopic is being produced by Sandeep Singh, Zeeshan Quadri and Omung Kumar. The film will hit the theatres May 20, and is expected to be released at the Cannes Film Festival as well.
