Dhaka, Sep 10 (ANI): The Health Ministers of 11 South East Asian countries met in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka for a four-day meeting on various health issues pertaining to the region with special focus on vector-borne diseases. The 32nd meeting of the Ministers of Health of World Health Organisation South-East Asia Region (WHO-SEAR) and the 67th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia started on Wednesday. Margaret Chan, Director General of World Health Organization (WHO) said that the meeting was special as the focus this year was on vector-borne diseases. Meanwhile, India's Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, addressing the gathering said that he was happy that traditional medicine was being discussed by the committee. He also said that he was happy that an agreement was being signed between India and Bangladesh in this field. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hailed the initiatives taken by the regional powers to discuss on various health issues and said her government will give all its inputs.
