Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 19 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan praised Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Friday (September 19) for state government's decision to drastically reduce availability of liquor. Supreme Court of India on September 11 had asked the State government of Kerala to maintain status quo over banning liquor in the state. Vardhan was speaking at a function in Thiruvananthapuram city to declare the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) as the State Cancer Institute. He said saving people from alcohol and tobacco is a priority. Vardhan further stressed upon his support for the decisions and policies like the one made by Chandy in terms of building a glorious and healthier India.
