The Indian tablet market is congested with more than 135 MNCs and Indian firms vying for the major share in the Sub-continent's tablet market.

HCL's tablet 'ME Y3' has to compete with cheaper tablets offered by Indian companies. However, the HCL tablet's few specs such as 3G and dual-SIM capability makes it stand apart from other low-cost tablets.

Many MNCs are also following the strategy of launching affordable tablets. Companies like Acer and Lenovo have released tablets with similar price range.
