Television actor Harshad Arora, who rose to popularity with "Beintehaa," is all set to play the lead in "Dahleez," which has Tridha Choudhary as the female lead. The show will revolve around the love story of Harshad's character, IAS officer Adarsh, and young aspiring lawyer Swadheenta, played by Tridha.

"My character, Swadheenta, has been very well thought out and penned beautifully. I have some brilliant actors working with me, who have been in this industry for (a) long (time). So, I am learning as much as I can from them. I feel Swadheenta is someone whom every woman will relate to," Tridha told Asian Age.

This is the first time Harshad and Tridha have been paired on a show. Harshad and Preetika Rao, who played the role of Zain and Aaliya, respectively, in "Beintehaa," received a lot of love from their fans.

Such is the craze for Zain and Aaliya that a certain section of the actor's fans have expressed displeasure at Harshad being paired with Tridha in the new show. While some urged the makers of "Dahleez" to pair Harshad with Preetika, others felt Harshad and Tridha are dating. The rumours started when Harshad shared some pictures with Tridha from the sets of "Dahleez" on social media. However, the actor recently took to his Facebook account to clarify on his relationship with co-actor Tridha.

"I was not upset by the meanness shown by a certain section of fans. I just needed to clarify a few things. If you post a few pictures with your co-star, it does not mean you are dating her. Some people have a different mindset and it's tough to make them understand things. However, we live in a democracy and social media is a strong medium to express one's opinion," Harshad told Bollywood Life.

While the hunk is grateful to his fans for the love showered on Zain and Aaliya, he hopes viewers will love his pairing with Tridha as well. "I adore the love people showered on Preetika and me, but they need to be realistic and understand that I can't work with the same co-actor show after show. The production house, channel and director, and not the actor, zero in on the actress. People need to be more realistic. Once they see 'Dahleez,' they will get a better idea about Tridha and my chemistry," Harshad told the entertainment portal.

"Dahleez" will go on air from March 14 at 10:30 p.m. on Star Plus.
