Shah Rukh-Farah Khan duo came up with a blockbuster this Diwali with their film, "Happy New Year" ("HNY"), receiving mixed reviews from the critics as well as viewers.

In just two days, the film has earned ₹80 crore from just domestic box office and will cross the ₹100 crore mark in India by Sunday afternoon.

"HNY" is a music heist drama, which indeed has many songs, but also entertains the audience with romance and action.

SRK's name is enough for a superhit movie and "HNY" had many top actors along with him. Khan played smart with the movie's promotion.

From 'SLAM! The Tour' to 'visiting Google headquarters', SRK left no stone unturned for the promotional tactics for the film.

The grand promotional strategy was putting up a live show in several US cities by "HNY" team and the tour was named as "SLAM! The Tour."

The team travelled to Houston, Chicago, New Jersey, San Jose, Vancouver and London to give live performances. This was a smart move by the team to market their film overseas.

Another publicity gimmick was adding their film character names with their personal names on their Twitter handles. SRK changed his name to Charlie, Deepika Padukone changed to Mohini, Abhishek Bachchan to Nandu, Sonu Sood to Jag and others also did the same, The Times of India reported.

The team also made an official Twitter handle. And became the first Indian film team to visit Google and Twitter headquarters at San Jose in USA.

"HNY" team, along with Zee TV, launched a dance reality show named "Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale" as a gimmick to promote their film. The people who will dance from their heart will be selected in the show. In this, SRK would be judging a reality show for the first time.

The star cast also promoted their film on hit TV shows like Amitabh Bachchan's "KBC" and Kapil Sharma's "Comedy Nights With Kapil."
