United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Day is celebrated every year on 2 December, which marks the the country's formal nationalisation from the British Protectorate Treaties in 1971.

Wednesday marks the 44th national day of the Middle-Eastern country. People have already began celebrations, and major buildings in the UAE are lit up in red, green, white and black, the colours of the country's flag.

From car rallies, dance shows, air shows to splendid fireworks, the national day will be filled with grand celebrations across the country.
