Bigg Boss 19 contestant and comedian Pranit More came under fire after a guest at one of his live stand-up shows made a controversial remark. In a viral clip, the man claimed that after spending Rs 370 on a chicken biryani during a date, he expected sexual favours when the woman asked him to drop her home.

"Maine kaha ki Rs 370 lage hain to use to wasool to karunga hi," the man can be heard saying in the video.

("I said, since I spent ₹370, I'll make sure I get my money's worth.")

Gurgaon man fired after viral 'Rs 370 biryani' remark at Pranit More's comedy show

Ever since the clip surfaced online, social media users have been slamming Pranit More for not stopping the man and instead laughing during the conversation. The guest was later identified as Gurugram-based Himanshu Jangra.

Following the backlash, Pranit More issued an apology through a note on Instagram. Meanwhile, Himanshu also faced consequences for his remarks. The design company he worked for, Starvik Design, based in Gurgaon, Haryana, decided to terminate his employment.

Reacting to the controversy, the company's founder Vivek Vishwakarma shared a video explaining the firm's stance. "We have fired Himanshu. Mistakes have consequences. But we also hope they become opportunities for reflection, learning, and positive change. After carefully reviewing the situation, we have taken a decision and wanted to address it openly. This is our response," the caption read.

Himanshu has since apologised for his remarks and deactivated his social media account. Pranit More also addressed the backlash and apologised publicly.

His note read, "I've seen the criticism regarding a recent crowdwork clip. The comments made by the audience member do not reflect my views. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on. That was a lapse in judgement on my part. Live crowdwork often involves reacting in real time, but that's not an excuse. I take the feedback seriously and will be more thoughtful in how I handle similar situations going forward.

He added, "We've also removed the video from all our platforms, as I don't want to amplify or normalise those views."
