Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," directed and co-written by James Gunn, and starring a newly buffed-up Chris Pratt, proven sci-fi blockbuster must Zoe Saldana (here dyed green as opposed to her "Avatar" blue), Bradley Cooper who still manages sexy with just his voice for Rocket (a mutant racoon) and Vin Diesel, the one man who could convince us he was a tree and still win us over, was released on 1 August in the US.

This newsest superhero film from Marvel has received raving reviews from critics, with Peter Bradshaw of The guardian calling it "a smart, funny, self-aware bubblegum movie" and Mark Hughes of Forbes calling it "Rock 'N Roll Sci-Fi Brilliance." It also received 90 percent in the "Tomatometer" in Rotten Tomatoes, and garnered overwhelmingly postitive feedback from moviegoers. 

"Guardians of the Galaxy," which first appeared in comic books in Marvel Super-Heroes, Issue #18 (January 1969) finds space adventurer Peter Quill, the object of a bounty hunt, after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain. But when Quill discovers the power it holds, the wisecracking, cheeky Galactic thief must find a way to rally a gang of fellow space vagabonds and save the universe.

However, the character that stole the show and the audiences' heart is Groot, a descendant of a race of walking flora. Despite his strange appearance, like that of a sentient tree, and limited communication skills, he is a valuable ally and a loyal friend.

Meanwhile, Mavel and Disney have released new behind-the-scenes footage for "Guardians of the Galaxy," which highlights Vin Diesel and the voice work he did for Groot. Not only did he provide Groot's voice in English, he also dubbed his lines from the film in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, French and Russian.
