"Grey's Anatomy" director Victoria Mahoney's tweet about the cast of the show attending a table read for Season 13 episode 4 has accidentally revealed what's in store for Alex in the upcoming season of the ABC medical drama.

A closer look at the snapshot shared by Mahoney reveals that the episode is written by Jen Klein and it may see Alex working elsewhere.

If you look closely at the snapshot, where a part of the script is seen, you can see someone saying to Alex, "You're here early this morning."

"Yeah, 'cause I love it here so much," Alex snarks.

But after a beat, he says, "I had to open. Plus, I wanna take—"

The text cuts off there, and based on the above conversation it looks like Alex is working someplace other than Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Interestingly, actor Giacomo Gianniotti had hinted at Alex landing in trouble for engaging in an altercation with his character. "Because Alex misinterpreted the situation and beat DeLuca so badly, he's going to have a lot of legal consequences to deal with," Gianniotti told The Hollywood Reporter.

Season 13 will also focus a lot on the original characters – Alex, Meredith, Bailey and Richard. "There is going to be a lot of checking in with the original cast; we love them so much and there has been such a renaissance with the show that it's nice to focus on the core pieces that have been there since the very beginning," actress Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia, told the publication.

"Grey's Anatomy" will return to ABC on Sept. 22. Season 13 is expected to pick up immediately after the events of the Season 12 finale that saw April and Jackson welcoming a baby and Maggie confessing to Meredith her interest in the new doctor Nathan, who was hooking up with Meredith.
