Google's most-awaited smartphone of the year, 'X Phone', which was earlier speculated to be launched in June-July, has now been postponed to August or may be even later, says new report.

A reliable source told Phone Arena that the Google X Phone release date would be pushed to August or even later. The source said that the X Phone is still in the early prototype phase and added that it is expected to feature Full HD 1080p 4.7-inch display with a very thin bezel and might run on Android mobile OS v4.2 Jelly Bean.

The speculation regarding the X Phone has been floating around for quite some time now and the media frenzy related to the Google smartphone is understandable given the fact that this mystery X Phone is touted as the first biggest product to come out from Motorola Mobility since the company was acquired by the search engine giant Google last year.

Earlier reports had indicated that Google would pull the wraps on the X Phone at the company's upcoming developer's conclave I/O 2013, Moscone Center, San Fransisco on 15 May next month and the smartphone would be released in select tier-1 global markets around June-July.
