Device Manager App Available

Google has also released an app for its Android devices tipped as Android Device Manager app. The application allows users to locate, ring, lock and wipe devices remotely.

The app was first introduced in August via a web interface which helped users find their devices. The ADM app also has the same functionality, but the interface is much faster.

The Android Device Manager app is especially made for those who own several Android devices. One can use the tablet to find, ring, lock or erase a missing smartphone remotely.

The app is also said to work with multiple user accounts.

In order to use the app, the user must allow it to act as a device administrator which can be done by going into Settings > Security > Device administrators, or by sending notifications either from the app or the web interface.

The Android Device Manager app can be downloaded from here. It requires 1.7MB of space and requires Android 2.3 or later verisons to run.
