Hype around the Google Nexus 5 (2015) is gaining momentum with its release date drawing closer. In fact, expectations about the upcoming smartphone are much more than the Motorola Nexus 6 released last year.

Google is yet to reveal anything about its Nexus 5 (2015) but several details, including features and estimated price, have been leaked over the last year weeks.

The device is expected to be released either in October or in November, by the time the Nexus 6 completes a year in the market.

Reason Why Expectations on Nexus 5 (2015) are High:

Expectations on the Nexus 5 (2015) are high for more reason than one. People are expecting big from the upcoming device for the simple reason that it is the successor of the Nexus 5 (2013), which was a big success.

The Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to make good business after the stupendous success of Nexus 5 (2013), which was discontinued after ruling the market for one-and-a-half-year without a single price cut. The handset, however, failed to live up to the expectations. It was criticised for its big 6-inch screen and steep price hike over its predecessor and it reflected in its sales.

Google seems to have learned its lessons. It is reported that the search giant is going back to LG to make the upcoming smartphone. The company is also expected to reduce the screen size of the new device and bring down the price (making it cheaper than the Nexus 6), besides upgrading specifications.

The Nexus 6 had a 6-inch display and was priced at $649 (Rs 44,000) for the 32 GB version and $699 (Rs 49,000) for the 64GB variant when launched, but the Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to sport a 5.2-inch Full HD touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixels and come with a price tag under $500, though it is not confirmed.

According to reports, the Google Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Android M, 64 GB internal memory, 3 GB RAM, 13 MP main camera, 2 MP front snapper, and non-removable 2300 mAh battery under the hood. It is also expected to come with fingerprint sensor and Android Pay.

According to a report by GizmoChina, the upcoming Google device is expected to come with features such as 64 GB internal storage, 4 GB RAM, 3180 mAh non-removable battery, 13 MP main camera, 4 MP front camera, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2. and USB Type-C connector.
