Google has the tradition of dropping the price of its flagship smartphone before the launch of a new device. The only exception was the LG Nexus 5 (2013), which was discontinued after ruling the market for over a year without a single deal. Interestingly, its current flagship device, the Nexus 6, has received price cuts months ahead of Nexus 5 (2015) and Nexus 6 (2015) launch.

The Motorola Nexus 6 is sold at just €489 instead of €589 in Germany by using promotional code DESUMMERSALE3 and the offer is valid till 31 August, according to TeleCompaper. The device is currently available in India on Flipkart for Rs 29,999 for 32 GB version against the launch price of Rs 44,000, and at Rs 34,999 for 64 GB version against the original price of Rs 49,000.

The Nexus 6 received first price cut more than a month ago with Google Play Store offering the 32GB version of the device for $499 in the US (Rs 37,000) against the original price of $649, and the 64GB version for $549 (Rs 42,000) against $699. It got another price cut in the UK last month with the 32 GB model being made available for only £304 ($475) against the original price of £479 and the 64 GB model for £379 ($531) against £549.

The recent Nexus 6 price cuts can be taken as a hint of the arrival of the Nexus 5 (2015).

Google is tight-lipped about its upcoming devices but reports have claimed that it they are coming soon. Korean website Post (via GforGames) has claimed that the devices will be launched on 29 September, contradicting earlier reports that it would see the light of day in October or November.

According to Android Police, LG will make the Nexus 5 (2015) under the codename "LG Bullhead" and Huawei will make Nexus 6 successor under the codename "Huawei Angler".

It has been reported that the Nexus 5 (2015) will sport a 5.2-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, come packed with 3 GB RAM, house 13 MP rear camera and 2 MP secondary snapper, non-removable 2300 mAh battery, fingerprint sensor and Android Pay.
