After weeks of speculations, Lava International has finally the pulled the wraps off the new Google Android One series smartphone Pixel V1 in India.
The Lava Pixel V1 is an upgraded version of the Android One series handsets - Micromax Advance A1, Spice Dream Uno and Karbonn Sparkle V - which were launched last year in September.
The first generation models were retailed in budget segment, but this time, the new phone will be marketed in the mid-range category. It sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a pixel density of 267 ppi (pixels per inch).
Under the hood, it packs a 1.3GHz MediaTek processor, not Qualcomm CPU, as rumoured earlier. The Pixel V1 houses 2GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory (expandable) and a 2650 mAh battery.
It also boasts of 13mp camera with LED flash and 5mp snapper on the front (special software on board the device is said to enhance the front-camera to 8mp).
Being an official Google affiliate, the Lava Pixel V1 will receive quick OS updates and also be one of the first to receive Android M series firmware, which is scheduled to roll out in a couple of months. It is guaranteed to get OS update service support for the next two years.

The new Lava Pixel V1, touted to be the affordable Nexus smartphone, costs Rs 11,350 and will be made available on Flipkart starting Monday (27 July). It will also be released via brick-and-mortar stores across India.
With a sub-Rs 11,500 price, the Lava Pixel V1 will be up against the Lenovo K3 Note, Xolo Black, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Meizu M1 Note and the recently released YU Yureka Plus.
