Christians will celebrate Good Friday, also known as Black Friday or Easter Friday, March 25 to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is observed the Friday before Easter.

Good Friday is a public holiday in many parts of the world and devotees consider it as a day to fast as their sacrifice to the Lord, who died for the sins of other people on Earth. According to the Holy Gospel, Jesus' disciple Judas Iscariot betrayed him with a kiss for thirty pieces of silver at the Garden of Gethsemane. "While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, but Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?" according to Luke 22:47-48.

Since the two days before Easter are considered as a period of mourning, the celebration of the Holy Eucharist or Holy Mass will not be performed until Easter Vigil, instead the celebration of the Passion of the Lord (way of cross) will take place in the afternoon on Good Friday.
