Indian diplomat, telecom regulator, NITI Aayog member, Singaporean central bank's fintech executive, Israeli science and technology minister and Biocon chief will be among the top delegates to speak at the Global Technology Summit 2016 that begins in Bengaluru on Tuesday (December 6).

S Jaishankar, Indian foreign secretary, R S Sharma, chairman of the Telecom Regulatory of India (TRAI) and Bibek Debroy, member of NITI Aayog have been listed as keynote speakers for the two-day event.

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, chairman and managing director of Biocon and Nivruti Rai, senior Intel executive, C Raja Mohan, director of Carnegie India and Sopnendu Mohanty, chief fin tech officer, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Ofir Akunis, Israel's Minister of Science, Technology and Space, are the other speakers.

Akunis, who will be meeting his Indian counterpart, Harsh Vardhan, in New Delhi on Tuesday, is being accompanied by Yaakov Perry, Michal Rozin and Yitzhak Vaknin, members of Knesset (Israeli Parliament); Peretz Vazan, director general of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space and Avi Blasberger, head of the Israel Space Agency, according to a statement issued by the Israeli diplomatic mission in New Delhi.

"Deepening the relations between India and Israel are a critical strategic goal for both countries. India and Israel are at the forefront of technology worldwide and we will continue to ensure they remain so," Akunis was quoted as saying by the mission in a statement on Tuesday.

The event is being organised by Carnegie India and supported by India's ministry of external affairs.

"The first Global Technology Summit, organized by Carnegie India and supported by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, will discuss global technology trends, their impact on job creation, and the lessons for India on planning for the future and finding the right balance between promoting innovation and effective regulation," according to the organisers.
