Nonprofit Global Citizen kicked off the fifth instalment of its annual festival, Global Citizen Festival, on Saturday at New York's Central Park and the line-up was big. The multi-hour concert was kicked off in style by headlining artistes Rihanna, Demi Lovato and Major Lazer among others.
The show wasn't just about a string of performances, it has also had sections where celebrities came together to make the fans laugh while indulging in a few gags. Quantico star Priyanka Chopra introduced the India chapter while hosting a segment, while Coldplay frontman Chris Martin gave her company. Actor Hugh Jackman, comedian Chelsea Handler, Neil Patrick Harris and Salma Hayek Pinault hosted bits and parts of the festival. Apart from witnessing music legends Metallica, Eddie Vedder and Cat Stevens get their groove on stage, the audience got a taste of rap and reggae in Becky G, Kendrick Lamar and Yandel's numbers.
