George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have been in the news as rumours about the couple planning to expand their family have gone wild over the past couple of weeks. Various reports have suggested that the human rights lawyer is 14 weeks pregnant with her first baby with actor husband Clooney. The buzz now is the high-profile couple are considering to adopt an orphan from a war-torn country.

George and Amal's relationship has been surrounded by various rumours since they got married. After a series of divorce rumours came a row of pregnancy rumours. Though the divorce rumours settled down after the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on 3 October by spending a wild night out with friends at the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill, pregnancy speculations continue doing the rounds of the web even now.

But the latest reports suggest Mr and Mrs Clooney are planning to adopt an orphan from a war-torn country. A source apparently told Woman's Day Magazine (via Daily Mail) that the 53-year-old actor and his 36-year-old human rights advocate lawyer wife are hoping to use the adoption to highlight the plight of orphans in countries like Syria.

"But even if the couple are looking to adopt, it's unlikely they will be able to do so in Syria under American law, as the US embassy in Damascus states that Syria, 'as a Shari'ah law country, does not recognise or provide for adoptions of Muslim children'," said the source.

Now, that sounds quite like the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie's story. It could be possible that George and Amal might have been inspired by them. In fact, a report has also suggested Amal and Angelina share a lot of similarities and the international lawyer is actually making efforts to become BFFs with the "Lara Croft" actress.

A recent report in Youth Health Mag said the barrister has even sent out a sweet letter to the "Maleficent" actress to break the ice. "Amal's never had time for silly showbiz insecurities and there's absolutely no valid reason for Angelina to have so much animosity towards her," said a source.

"She wrote her a very sweet letter, assuring her that she has no beef with her. They have so much in common. It's madness that they're not BFFs, and Amal's determined to fix that," the source added.

George and Amal can definitely get some good tips from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on adopting a child, if the ladies become BFFs.
