This week's new music releases highlighted quality over quantity. Although there weren't many singles to look forward to, the tracks released this week were definitely way above standard.

"Foregrow" by John Frusciante

John Frusciante turned his attention towards experimental music after quitting Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Since then the guitarist has established a uniquely experimental sound that is reflected well in his recently released EP. "Foregrow" is the title track of the EP.

 

"Prayers/Triangles" by Deftones

American alternative metal band Deftones recently premiered a music video for "Prayers/Triangles," the lead single from their 2016 release, "Gore." It is a kaleidoscopic video that corresponds quite aptly with the atmospheric/alternative metal sound of the song.

 

"Singing In The Rain" by Simple Plan

Pop rock/ punk rock band Simple Plan made a comeback this year with "Taking One for the Team," their fifth studio album. "Singing in the Rain" is the third single from the album for which the band released a music video recently. It is a reggae-influenced track that features hip hop duo Rock City.

 

"Just Like Fire" by Pink

American singer-songwriter Pink released her first single since last year's "Today's the Day" this week. "Just Like Fire" is a part of the soundtrack for upcoming movie "Alice Through The Looking Glass." The song is a pop rock influenced anthem that can urge you to let your hair down.

 

"New Romantics" by Taylor Swift

Before heading to Coachella 2016, pop star Taylor Swift made sure that her fans had something to look forward to. The singer recently released a music video for "New Romantics," a song from her successful 2014 LP, "1989."

 

"No Worries" by Disciples featuring David Guetta

British production trio solidified their place in the international music circuit with last year's "How Deep Is Your Love" in which they collaborated with Calvin Harris. This year they are back with another major collaboration in "No Worries." This time it is with David Guetta.

 

 

"Spoon Me" by Elliphant featuring Skrillex

"Spoon Me" is an electronic pop song that has an ethnic vibe to it. Swedish singer Elliphant recently released a music video for the song, which is from her latest album "Living Life Golden."
