Pune, June 01 (ANI): Former Indian President Pratibha Patil poised to celebrate 84th birth anniversary of the heritage train Deccan Queen or Deccan Queen Express which was the pride of the British, as it connected two major cities of Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra. To mark the occasion train model made in cake was cut by Patil and was distributed among the attendees. Locally known as "Dakhan ki Rani", it started its first journey as a deluxe train on June 01, 1930. The frames of the coach were manufactured in England but the coach itself was manufactured in a Mumbai's Matunga workshop, which still exists today and caters largely to the maintenance of the local trains. Patil said that trains are instrumental in uniting people and bring joys to every heart.
