Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has taken to twitter to accuse the current PDP-BJP government in the state of mismanaging the situation in Kashmir. After the Election Commission decided to cancel the May 25 Anantnag Lok Sabha bypoll, citing poor law and order in the valley and lack of adequate central forces. The National Conference leader also held the Mufti government responsible for the deteriorating stability in the valley.
The elections were cancelled after the Pakistani Army mutilated the bodies of two slain Indian soldiers in Krishna Ghati sector of Kashmir. In another similar incident, Pakistani terrorists on Monday (May 1) shot seven people at point blank range, including five police personnel and two bank employees, in a bid to loot a cash van.
The polls were cancelled as the EC found the 'ground situation not conducive'.
"It's depressing to see how far we have regressed in Kashmir from the highs of the Assembly polls of 2014 to the cancelled election of 2017 (SIC)," his tweet read.
He also took a dig at the "5 percent" people who Mufti referred to as the trouble makers in Kashmir.
"This is your legacy @MehboobaMufti. Your "5% of the people" have brought J&K back to the early 90's yet shamelessly you cling on to power!", Abdullah said in his tweet on Tuesday, May 2.
As his tirade continued he also added that Mufti should not make the mistake of underestimating the symbolic victory of the "5%" who brought the might of the government in Srinagar/Delhi to its knees.

While blaming her to have "completely" mishandling things in Kashmir, he even called Mehbooba Mufti shameless. "The only things keeping @MehboobaMufti in office are her shamelessness & a misplaced sense of pride in Delhi preventing admission of mistake," he tweeted.
