Agartala, Aug 8 (ANI): For the first time a food grain consignment from India's southern province of Andhra Pradesh reached northeastern state of Tripura through neighbouring Bangladesh as a part of cooperation mechanism between the two nations. Three Bangladeshi trucks carrying 51 tonnes of rice entered Tripura through the Akhaura integrated check post on Thursday in the presence of officials of Food Corporation of India (FCI). Indian police escorted Bangladeshi trucks as they directly entered the FCI warehouse at Nandannagar. This step has been taken to reduce the cost and prevent a second transshipment at the Akhaura India-Bangladesh border. Border Guard Official from Bangladesh, Sahid, said this move will strengthen the relationship between two neighbouring countries.
