Gurdaspur, Sep 08 (ANI): Dozens of border villages and farmlands were inundated due to floodwaters in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, while 18 people including children have been rescued. These villages across river Ravi remained cut off following flooding of the Basanter Nullah near the Pakistan borders. The incessant rains in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab have created havoc when the river waters breached embankments on the Indian side and the flow of water increased sharply. Meanwhile, Indian army teams conducted rescue operations and saved 18 people who were stuck in the flooded areas. Evacuation is being carried out. Around 200 people are stranded across the river Ravi.
