Puri, Aug 13 (ANI): Floods that had caused immense loss to life and property in Odisha has begun to subside giving people some respite. The floods triggered by days of heavy rain had marooned residents of villages in Sonepur district and killed 45 people, leaving more than 300,000 people cut off from basic services. Odisha_s Deputy Special Relief Commissioner Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra said on Wednesday (August 13) that the Mahanadi River is now below danger level and the situation is well under control.
