Home-bred e-commerce giant Flipkart has kick started the five-day-long (13 -17 October) sale, an app only festive sale dubbed as Big Billion Days in India.

Motorola, a patron of e-retailer Flipkart, has launched the 4G variant of the company's popular 2014 series mid-range phone Moto G (2 Gen) in India. It will go on pre-order as part of Big Billion Days sale.

The prospective buyers can pre-book the device at 12:00 am on 15 October for just Rs. 8,999. Flipkart's Big Billion Days' exclusive mobile and accessories sale is also said to go live on the same day and culminate on 17 October.

For the uninitiated, the new 4G Moto G2 model houses the same features seen inside the 3G variant, except the network connectivity support.

With 4G-LTE support, new Moto G2 model owners can enjoy 150mbps/50mbps download/upload speed. But, it depends on the region and network carrier as the 4G service is confined to only a few cities and towns.

Both the devices sport 5.0-inch HD display and houses Snapdragon 400 series quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and a 2070 mAh battery, which is said to be enough to run the phone for a whole day under mixed usage.

Another key aspect of the Moto G (2 gen) is that the phone comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the box. The company has released the v5.0.2 Lollipop to the device and is also confirmed to get the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the year-end or early 2016.

However, there is no word from Motorola on whether the Moto G (2 Gen) 4G-LTE comes with 8GB or 16GB inbuilt memory.
