With the withdrawal of the 'A' class theatres' state wide 4-day strike in Kerala on Thursday, 17 December, much -waited Malayalam films will hit the screens this Christmas locking horns with each other.

Following the continuous requests from the fans, the makers of Dulquer Salmaan's "Charlie" have revealed the release date of the film.

"Charlie", starring Dulquer and Parvathy in the lead roles will be released on 24 December as a Christmas gift to the Kerala audience.

Even before its release, Martin Prakkat's upcoming Malayalam film "Charlie" has created many records making it one of the most awaited films of the year. The movie has already raised the expectations of the audience with the release of its trailer and audio songs.

In order to avoid the box office clash this festive season, the makers had earlier scheduled to release the film on 18 December. However, due to the theatre strike, the movie's release was postponed to the next week affecting one week's revenue  the film was expected to make.

The Martin Prakkat directorial "Charlie" also has Aparna Gopinath, Nedumudi Venu, Soubin Shahir and Chemban Vinod in significant roles.
