Brazil will take on Colombia in the 2014 World Cup quarterfinals match 2 at Estadio do Maracana on Friday night. The hosts will try to beat their fellow South American counterparts as they continue their bid to win the cup for the sixth time.

The hosts started the tournament with a 3-1 win against Croatia in the opening match before a goaless draw with Mexico in their second game. They showed some spark in the final match of the group stage with a 4-1 win against Cameroon but their outing against Chile in the round of 16 was far from convincing. They managed to book a place in the quarterfinals after beating Chile on a penalty shootout after the match ended with a goal.

On the other hand, there was not much expectation on Colombia ahead of the tournament but they have shown to the world with their performance that they are a team to beat this World Cup. They have conceded neither a loss nor a draw so far, beating Greece 3-0 in the opening game before defeating Ivory Coast 2-1 and Japan 4-1 in the group stage. They convincingly beat Uruguay 2-0 in the round of 16 with James Rodriguez scoring two goals.
