Fiat India has finally pulled the wraps off its Punto Evo in the country at a starting price of ₹4.55 lakh.
Punto Evo, a stylish and facelifted version of old Punto is offered in seven trims in the country - 3 petrol and four diesel and comes with a choice of three engines in a total of 4 states of tune.
While the entry-level Fiat Evo gets power from 1.2-litre, 4 cylinder petrol motor, the next model in the petrol Evo line-up draws power from a 1.4 litre, 4 cylinder petrol motor.
The 1.3 litre, 4 cylinder MultiJet diesel gets two different states of tune. In Active, Dynamic and Emotion models, the diesel engine churns out a 76 PS power and 197 Nm torque, whereas in the top model, the same diesel machine pumps out 92.72 PS power and 209 Nm torque.
Talking of the updates in the new Punto Evo, the car flaunts an Avventura Crossover-inspired front fascia with larger grille and swept-back headlights.
The re-worked front bumper and trapezoidal fog-lamps with chrome strips gives a chic look to the new Evo and the car's rear profile also gets new features like LED tail-lamps.
The side profile remains almost same as Punto, except the new alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the new Evo gets centre console, and dashboard lifted from the 2014 Linea.
The car gets safety features like Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and front airbags and will be offered in seven paint jobs - Glitterati Gold, Magnesio Grey, Exotica Red, Minimal Grey, Hip-Hop Black, Vocal White and Tuscan Wine.
In India, the Volkswagen Polo facelift, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt are the main rivals of new Evo.
