Italian auto maker Fiat plans to launch Abarth 595 and Fiat Punto Evo Abarth and Avventura in India by August.

Auto Car India claims the company's performance car brand Abarth will mark its entry into the lucrative Indian market with three new models to capture a pie of the car market in the country.

Abarth 595

Abarth 595 is slightly different from the Abarth 500 and comes with 1.4-litre T-Jet motor under the hood that can churn out 158 bhp of power and 230 Nm torque. It is expected to come mated to either 5- speed manual transmission or AMT gearbox.

Its features include 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and roof spoilers. The model is also expected to include safety features like Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and airbags.

The model is expected to be priced at around ₹25 lakh.

Fiat Punto Abarth

Fiat Punto's much-powerful version Punto Abarth will also be making its launch in India soon.

To be powered by 1.4-litre T-JET turbocharged petrol engine that can churn out 135PS power at 6,000rpm and 206Nm torque at 1,750rpm, the Punto Abarth will be produced locally along with Punto Evo hatchback. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed gearbox and is likely to clock 0-100kmph in eight seconds. With localisation of the model, Punto Evo Abarth is likely to be priced at around ₹10 lakh.
